Interestingly, Karisma, Saba and Kalki did walk the ramp, but not as showstoppers like any other model and while speaking at the press conference post the showcase, the designer explained the reason behind it.

He said and we quote, “Karisma Kapoor, Saba Azad and Kalki Koechlin honestly supported me. All I was like why a celebrity has to stop a show and not be the flow of the show and that’s what we did for the first time. So no one stopped the show but they were very much in the flow and I asked them, will you help me do this because everyone’s becoming entertainment and I’m not here as entertainment for the fashion show, can we do this? Can you support me in doing that? I didn’t want to stop the show, but wanted to go with the flow and I think we should change the word celebrity showstopper. We should call it a celebrity flowing show as it’s done all over the world and as an artist they understood me and supported me, so a big thank you to all three of them.”

Post the show, Karisma, Saba and Kalki posed for cameras and also addressed the media.

Saba explained how karigars from Benaras were involved in making outfits for designer Sanjay Garg. She further added how this was a good opportunity for the karigars to revive a craft.

With an interesting lineup of over 45 participants, the fashion week is expected to be grander than ever. The five-day-long fashion extravaganza will take place in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan, and it will have a stockroom sale with 80 stalls on the last day of the fashion week.
