According to Bellman, “trends” this season mirror Nordstrom’s selections in that they’re pieces you’ll be eyeing to still pull out in a year’s time—or more. “One of the biggest trends for this fall season is the modernizing of classics,” she says. “Think about the elevated essentials you’ll wear everywhere and have in your wardrobe for years to come.”
There’s also a focus on heritage pieces that feel both town and country (think quilted outerwear, $130, or striped menswear, $1,420).
Beyond just choosing pieces that could slot into your capsule wardrobe, Bellman says tailoring is key. “It offers a level of versatility, from a polished blazer to an effortless trench,” she advises.
