Jennifer Lawrence knows how to nail a killer red carpet look.
The Don’t Look Up actress was a vision of elegance at the 2023 Women’s Wear Daily Honors in New York City on Tuesday, which was held at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan as part of the WWD Apparel and Retail CEO Summit.
Lawrence, 33, opted for a mid-length, belted black Christian Dior gown with a striking asymmetric neckline and off-the-shoulder detail. Teamed with nude heels, a sleek low ponytail and statement gold earrings, the actress — who is an ambassador for Dior — added a splash of bold color with a statement red lip.
The WWD Honors featured a special award for artistic director of womenswear collections at Dior, Maria Grazia Chiuri, who was presented with the John B. Fairchild Honor by Lawrence at the event. According to WWD, the award acknowledges an individual who has had a distinguished and influential career in the fashion industry.
Ahead of her presenting duties on Tuesday evening, the actress spoke to WWD on the red carpet, sharing what she loved about Chiuri.
“Well, her designs first, and her style. But she just has the kindest heart and she has an over-enthusiastic work ethic,” Lawrence said. When asked how the designer’s clothes make her feel, she only had positive words.
“Like a woman,” the Oscar-winner said with a laugh, adding that the Dior designer has “such a cool energy. She just has a way with shapes, shaping things, for a woman. I feel like a modern, cool, beautiful woman in her clothes.”
Lawrence’s red carpet moment this week mirrors a more casual version of the look she sported while on a date night with her husband Cooke Maroney in New York City earlier this month.
Photographed strolling through the streets of Manhattan holding hands with her husband of four years on Oct. 11, the No Hard Feelings star wore an oversized off-the-shoulder red sweater that she styled with jeans and flats.
The couple’s stylish day out came after Lawrence attended the Dior womenswear spring/summer 2024 collection in Paris last month.
