Schellville hosts first fashion for charity night

A beautiful evening under the stars Oct. 19 was the perfect setting for the inaugural Fashion for Charity: Girls’ Night Out at Schellville outside Rehoboth Beach.

The event raised money for the Harry K Foundation’s effort to defeat childhood hunger in Delaware.

“It’s an evening of fun,” said Robyn Rosenfeld-Aburrow, chair of the event and member of the Harry K Foundation board.

A total of 17 local vendors filled the Schellville skating rink with tables of jewelry and racks of clothing.

“It’s just sensational,” said Diana Urbanas of Rehoboth Beach. “[Harry] has done so much. I’m glad the ladies understand that, and I’m glad they’re here.”

Local women also took to the runway to showcase some of the clothes and accessories that were available, about 100 outfits in all.

“The event started as a way to attract the younger women and tell them about Harry K, get them involved, and hopefully we’ll feed the children of Delaware forever,” said Rosenfeld-Aburrow.

Proceeds from ticket sales and a portion of vendor sales went to the Harry K Foundation.
