Fashion show supports causes for women and girls

With more than 200 guests in attendance Oct. 15, the Fund for Women Sussex County Committee held a fashion show that will not be forgotten.

Highlights included auction items from many local vendors; a collection of personal hygiene products that guests contributed for I Support the Girls, a local organization that distributes essential items to those experiencing homelessness, impoverishment or distress; and acquiring six new Fund for Women founders.

Hitting the runway were fabulous fashions from local shops including Candlelight Bridal, Coral Cove, Boutique W, Water Lili, Funky Lady, Pink Leopard, Proof and Twila Farrell. Organizers extend thanks to these businesses for making the fashion show a success. The models, all Fund for Women founders, strutted their stuff at the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and helped raise over $10,000 to empower women and girls in Delaware.

Thanks go to all sponsors this year including County Bank, Delaware Beach Life, It’s a Snap Design, Lewes Dental Group, Joanne and Pete Harrigan, Rob and Jean Montagne, Meineke in Lewes, Moore and Rutt, Morris James LLP, Open to the Public, and Touch of Italy.

The Fund for Women serves Delaware women and girls through grants and other activities. There are more than 2,300 founders who have pledged $1,000 each to build an endowment to provide grants back to the community.
