Keiana Armani, owner of Indigo Blue Style, hosted a soft opening for her new physical location in Elkins Park on September 16.
7906 High School Road is now a one-stop shop for luxury vintage, fashion accessories, home goods, fashion apparel, fitness apparel, and an extensive candle collection.
“Fashion is my first love, and this all started out as a blog,” Armani said. “I was looking to become a fashion stylist in New York City, and I just wanted to share my story. Over the years, I kept going with it. We started to incorporate products into our brand in 2019.”
The blog—which now includes a fitness component—is still going strong, and E-commerce was Indigo Blue Style’s bread and butter prior to opening in Elkins Park.
Armani, a certified personal trainer, believes that fitness and fashion go hand-in-hand. She offers women-only fitness training and fashion styling in addition to for-purchase items in the store.
“I’ve worked at a few gyms, and I noticed that women gravitate towards a female trainer. It’s a lot of pressure, a lot of insecurities, especially with new mothers,” she said. “I’m a mom and a trainer, and I’ve found that it helps to build that connection with clients.”
“When women get in shape, they build confidence and can feel like a new person. We want to provide women with fashion that helps to capture that newfound power,” Armani said. “It’s something I’m very passionate about. I’ve been on that fitness journey myself, and around 2019, I decided to offer my expertise.”
Armani noted that as the fashion industry becomes more unisex, men are finding more articles in the women’s section.
“Our male audience is very supportive, even with our candle collection and our women’s clothing,” she said. “They understand that female empowerment is a big part of our brand.”
The space at 7906 High School Road was an immediate hit with the fashion guru, and Elkins Park has been an ideal fit for her goals.
“I found this amazing space, and it just happened to be in Elkins Park. I instantly knew this was the one as soon as I walked in the first time,” Armani said. “The community has been great to us. It’s quaint and diverse. I thought this was a really cute area that people don’t really know about.”
Indigo Blue Style expects to host a grand opening in the not-so-distant future.
“It’s been great to see everyone’s response. We’re excited to keep moving,” she said.
