It’s like Christmas came two months early. It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Netflix has released Falling For Christmas, Lindsay Lohan’s new Christmas movie. Mean Girls Day (Recall Lohan’s character Cady’s iconic line: “On October 3, he asked me what day it was.”), the streaming site released the movie poster today, bringing the holidays early, and as you can see in the image below, Lindsay Lohan’s Jumpsuit looks stunning!
On Monday, Netflix released an exclusive first look at the upcoming Christmas rom-com starring Lohan and Glee alum Chord Overstreet. Lohan is depicted in the billboard sporting a cheesy poinsettia-inspired red off-the-shoulder costume with a waist bow and voluminous bell sleeves (the signature plant of Christmas). Her renowned crimson locks are curled and parted in the middle. Overstreet, who wears a black and gray sherpa-lined flannel and a green scarf in his role as Lohan’s unlikeliest romantic interest, is pictured above with the star.
Netflix cheekily captioned the Instagram photo with, “It’s October 3.” Put “November 10” in your calendars now. Lohan’s Mean Girls co-star Jonathan Bennett, who played Aaron Samuels in the cult hit, chimed in on the joke, asking, “What day is it?” and then exclaiming, “Can’t wait to see it!!!!”
Stills from the film that were published on Entertainment Weekly show the two of them together and in other scenes, including one with Overstreet’s character’s daughter, looking quite happy. Lohan discussed her first major film role since 2013’s The Canyons in an interview with Netflix. It’s a breath of fresh air, a heartwarming romantic comedy, and I really missed making films like this, she remarked. “Stunt work was a blast for me in this film because I usually don’t get to do much of it in my movies. While I’m trying my best to ski down the slope and completely failing at it.”
