THE BAHAMAS – Santa Clara men’s golf couldn’t have drawn up a better way to finish their fall season. The Broncos were dominant from start to finish in all three days of action at the White Sands Bahamas Invite on Paradise Island, culminating in Sunday’s 19-under 269 final round that propelled them to the team title – their first since the 2017-18 season. Santa Clara won the event with a new school record 54-hole tally of 45-under 273-277-269–819.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS
- The Broncos were on fire across the board, turning in 29 birdies against just nine bogeys for the day.
- Muzzy Donohue made a big move in the final round, tallying a fantastic 7-under 65 that featured eight birdies, including a streak of five-straight on the back nine, to climb seven spots and finish in third place at 12-under 204.
- Just one stroke behind Donohue was the duo of Jeffrey Kwak and Nolan Forsman who tied for fourth at 11-under 205.
- Kwak carded seven birdies against one bogey as part of his 6-under 66 final round.
- Forsman had six birdies of his own, including three straight on Nos. 15-17, in his 4-under 68 final round. He was the only player on the roster to finish the event in the 60s in each of his three rounds.
- J.P. Odland, who held the individual lead through the first two rounds, turned in a 70 on Sunday to secure another top-10 finish with a tie for ninth at 10-under 206.
- Santa Clara held off North Texas (823) for the championship title.
- Georgia State’s Gareth Steyn won medalist honors at 15-under 67-69-65–201.
- Santa Clara also fielded a “B” team. Calder Overfelt led the way for that group with a tie for 20th at 4-under 212.
- In total, six Broncos finished in the top-25 of the final standings with Joey Hayden and Cameron Kaiser finishing just outside in a tie for 27th.

- The victory is Santa Clara’s first team title since the 2017-18 season when the Broncos won three events.
